Privacy Policy

MOCAdventures respects your right to privacy.  This policy outlines the personally identifiable information we may collect and how we may use it.  This policy also describes other important issues related to your privacy.

Privacy Policy

It is MOCAdventures policy to comply with all applicable privacy and data protection legislation. This commitment reflects the value we place on earning and maintaining the trust of our employees, customers, partners, and others who share their personal information with us.

This MOCAdventures Global Internet Privacy Policy (this “Policy”) describes how MOCAdventures protects your privacy when we collect personal information on MOCAdventures websites. The term “personal information” used in this Policy means information that personally identifies you, either alone or in conjunction with other information we make available.

This Policy applies, in general, to all websites operated on behalf of MOCAdventures and its business units worldwide (each “MOCAdventures Website”).

Website Privacy Statements

While this Policy applies to all MOCAdventures Web Sites generally, each MOCAdventures Web Site has a distinct purpose and characteristics. If additional or other disclosures are necessary with respect to a specific MOCAdventures Web Site, we will indicate such disclosures on the respective website or in a separate website privacy notice (“Web Site Privacy Statement”) posted on the same site. Each individual disclosure or Website Privacy Statement supplements and amends this Policy, but only with respect to the MOCAdventures Internet Site on which it is posted.

Your Consent

By using a MOCAdventures Web Site or providing personal information to us, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of your personal information as described in this Policy and any applicable Country or Web Site Privacy Statement.

If you do not consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your information as described in this Policy (and in any applicable Website or Country Privacy Statement), do not use the MOCAdventures Websites or the Contact MOCAdventures/Contact Us forms.

Limitations on Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Personal Information

To the extent required by applicable law, whenever MOCAdventures collects personal information on a MOCAdventures Web Site, MOCAdventures will:

– Notify you in a timely and appropriate manner about your data practices;

– collect, use, disclose and transfer your personal information only with your consent, which may be express or implied, depending on the sensitivity of the personal information, legal requirements and other factors;

– collect your personal information only for specific and limited purposes. The information we collect will be relevant, adequate, and not excessive for the purposes for which it is collected;

– process your personal information in a manner consistent with the purpose for which we collect it, or for which you provided your consent;

– we will take commercially reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is reliable for your purpose, accurate, complete and, where necessary, kept up to date;

– we will not use your personal information for direct marketing purposes without giving you the opportunity to use the “opt-out”; and

– we will take reasonable steps, by contract or otherwise, to provide adequate protection for personal information that has been disclosed to a third party or transferred to another country, including transfers within MOCAdventures.

Information Obtained through MOCAdventures Web Sites and How It May Be Used

When you access and use a MOCAdventures Web Site, there are 3 ways we may collect information about you:

1. Information Your Browser Sends Us

MOCAdventures collects information that your web browser automatically sends to us. This information generally includes the IP address of your Internet service provider, the name of your operating system (such as Macintosh® or Windows®) and the name and version of your browser (such as Internet Explorer® or Netscape®). The information we receive depends on your web browser settings. Check your browser if you want to know what information it sends or how to change the settings.

The information provided to us by your browser does not personally identify you. We use this information to create statistics that help us improve our sites and make them more compatible with the technology our visitors use on the Internet.

2. Information Gathered by Leaving a Cookie on Your Browser

MOCAdventures may collect information from you if you install a “tag” on your computer’s hard drive. This tag is known as a “cookie.

All of our MOCAdventures Websites use “session cookies.” A session cookie is used to tag your computer with a computer-generated unique identifier at the time you access our site.

A session cookie does not identify you personally and expires when you close your browser. We use session cookies to gather statistical information about the ways visitors use our site: which pages they visit, which links they open, and how long they spend on each page. We analyze this information (known as “stream data”) in statistical applications to understand our visitors’ interests and needs in order to improve the content and functionality of our sites.

Some MOCAdventures websites also use “persistent cookies”.

These cookies do not expire when you close your browser, but remain on your computer until you delete them. By assigning your computer a unique identifier, we can create a database of your past choices and preferences. This way, when we need to know these preferences we can use them automatically, saving you time and effort. For example, after you make a purchase, if you decide to make another purchase, we will have saved your shipping address and you will only need to confirm it.

If a MOCAdventures Web Site uses “persistent cookies,” we will notify you in the Privacy Statement posted on the site.

If you do not wish to receive cookies, you may set your browser to refuse cookies or to notify you when a cookie is stored on your computer. While you are not required to accept cookies when you visit a MOCAdventures Web Site, you may not be able to use all of the features of the site if your browser rejects cookies.

3. Information You Voluntarily and Deliberately Provide

MOCAdventures collects information that you voluntarily and knowingly provide to us when you use a MOCAdventures Web Site, for example, the information you provide when you sign up for email alerts, complete a survey, ask us a question, or send us an email with feedback. In many instances, this information will be of a personal nature.

MOCAdventures uses this information for the purposes for which you provide it. For example, if you provide your email address when you sign up to receive email alerts, we will use your email address to send you the alerts you request.

We may also use the information we collect on the MOCAdventures Web Sites for various business purposes, such as customer service, fraud prevention, market research, improving our products and services, and providing you and your company with information and offers that we believe may be of interest to you.

We may also remove all personally identifiable information and use the remainder for historical, statistical or scientific purposes.

Many of the MOCAdventures Web Sites allow you to choose how your personal information is used. In most cases, we will ask you to indicate your choice at the time and on the page where you enter your personal information.

Sharing of personal information

MOCAdventures will not sell personal information it collects from your websites to mailing list brokers without your express consent.

MOCAdventures may share your personal information with other MOCAdventures business units. When we do so, these other MOCAdventures business units will use your information in a manner consistent with the purpose for which it was originally collected (or for which you provided your consent) and only as permitted by this Policy, any Website or Country Privacy Statement, and any applicable data protection and privacy laws.

MOCAdventures may also share your personal information with third parties we engage to provide services to us. These third parties are obligated to use the personal information we share with them only to perform services on our behalf and must treat your personal information as strictly confidential.

n some cases, MOCAdventures may share your personal information with third parties associated with us to provide products and services to our customers. When we do so, we will require these business partners to use your personal information that we share with them in a manner consistent with the purpose for which it was originally collected (or for which you provided your consent) and only as permitted by this Policy, any Website or Country Privacy Statement, and any applicable data protection and privacy laws.

In some limited instances, we may share or transfer personal information with unrelated third parties. For example, we may provide personal information to a third party (i) because you requested it; (ii) to comply with a legal requirement or court order; (iii) to investigate a possible crime, such as identity theft; (iv) in connection with the sale, purchase, merger, reorganization, liquidation or dissolution of MOCAdventures or a MOCAdventures business unit; or (v) under similar circumstances. If this occurs, we will take appropriate steps to protect your personal information.

Many of our MOCAdventures Websites allow you to make choices about the disclosure or transfer of your personal information. In most cases, we will ask you to indicate your choice at the time and on the page where you enter your personal information.

Security of Personal Information

Your personal information will generally be stored in MOCAdventures databases or databases held by our service providers. Most of these databases are stored on servers located in the United States. To the extent required by law, if your personal information will be transferred outside of your country, you will be sent an appropriate notice.

MOCAdventures maintains reasonable safeguards to protect the confidentiality, security and integrity of your personal information. For example, we use secure server technology (SSL) to transfer personal information over the Internet. Although we use security measures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized disclosure, misuse or alteration, as is the case with computer networks connected to the Internet, we cannot guarantee the security of information provided over the Internet, and we will not be liable for breaches of security beyond our reasonable control.

MOCAdventures Internet Sites may contain Internet sites that are not operated by MOCAdventures. These links are provided as a service and do not imply any endorsement of the activities or content of these sites, nor any association with their operators. MOCAdventures does not control these websites and is not responsible for their content, security or privacy practices.
